Gabrielle Mitchell : Artist
​
Born in Newcastle, Australia where she continues to live part time & the Manning Valley with her family. Gabrielle was raised on the family farm, in a little place called Bobs Farm, Port Stephens. She fell in love with art from a young age and was inspired by her family & farm life. Gabrielle was so enthusiastic that father made her first art easel at the age of 7 years old. At the age of 14 Gabrielle spent her school holidays at The University of Sydney, studying life drawing.

Gabrielle expanded her art education as a student at The National Art School, Sydney. She became proficient in life drawing, painting, sculpture & photography. Gabrielle graduated to gain a Diploma of Arts (Fine Arts).

Gabrielle lived in England for 5 & 1/2 years & travelled widely throughout Europe. Enjoying many of the art experiences in that part of the world. She worked as a freelance visual merchandiser, her work consisted of, design, building, dressing and assembling for small functions, exhibitions, conferences & production launches.

Gabrielle went on to study a Bachelor of Design (Communication of Design) at Swinburne University, Melbourne, Vic. Gabrielle then worked in advertising, events & freelance design.

Years of travelling and life experience has built up versatility of style, passion, skills and knowledge as an artist.
Gabrielle loves to create beautiful pieces and is constantly working towards creating pieces that are fresh and playful with shapes, depth, creativity, colours, strong composition and playfulness.

Gabrielle has a sophisticated drawing palate that creates strong marks using colour, texture and form. Her passion for contemporary art and design has resulted in her most recent works revealing a mixture of beautiful patterns, layers, bold images and abstract translucency applications. Most works are created using a combination of pen & ink, water colour, acrylic, pencil, charcoal and collaged paper on watercolour paper, and other medium.

Gabrielle works from her home studio in Manning Valley and shares her home with her husband and their wonderful son Harry.

Gabrielle is proud to deliver artwork that can be enjoyed by many for many generations as collector pieces.
